Every year a strange holiday is held in hot Spanish Valencia. It is called La Tomatina and is officially recognized to be national patrimony. During the holiday, unsuspecting tourists and well-prepared locals are literally thrown at with tomatoes. Last year 110 tons of innocent tomatoes were wasted, although so many delicious things could have been prepared from them...
Crimean salad
Ingredients:
1 large or 2 small beefsteak tomatoes
1 medium-sized Crimean onion
soured cream (the sourer the better)
salt
Cut the tomatoes into large pieces. Cut the onions into half-rings. Mix together, season with salt and dress with the soured cream. If possible, leave to rest for 10 to 15 minutes in a chilly place. You can also add fresh herbs and a pinch of pepper.
Italian salad
Ingredients:
5 tomatoes
1 large onion
100 g pine nuts
1 bunch fresh basil
1 garlic clove
olive oil for dressing
salt
Cut the tomatoes and the onions into circles. Crush the garlic and mix it with the nuts. Add the ingredients to a salad bowl in layers: first the tomatoes and the onions, then season with salt, then the garlic nut mix and the basil leaves. Dress with the olive oil and leave in a chilly place (do not refrigerate!) for 30 minutes.

1 litre beef stock
6 medium-sized tomatoes
1 large onion
4-5 celery stalks
200 ml cream
