Besides our usual pot stew and soup, potato is used to make wafers and even vodka. By and large, potato is an inexhaustible source of inspiration for housewives all over the world.

"Hunter’s Joy" Salad

Ingredients:
500 g potatoes
200 g fresh mushrooms
1 onion
vegetable oil for frying and dressing
vinegar, salt, pepper, parsley

Boil the potatoes in jackets, peel and cut finely. Peel and finely cut the mushrooms and stew them in oil at a low heat with finely chopped onions. Let the mushrooms and onions chill down, mix with the potatoes, dress with the vinegar. Add salt, pepper and finely chopped parsley. Optionally dress with oil before serving.

Polish Potato Kluski

Ingredients:
3 kg potatoes
1 large onion
100 g flour
10 g lard or salo
Salt, pepper

Peel and grate the potatoes, leave for 20 min. Drain the potato juice, add the flour and mix thoroughly. With a spoon make small round kluski, put them into boiling salted water and cook for 10 min. Take out of the water with a skimmer and leave to chill down.
Melt the lard in a pan and fry the finely chopped onion in it. Rinse the kluski with cold water, add them to the onions, fry slightly, add salt, pepper and serve with sauerkraut.

Tatar Zur-Belyash

Ingredients:
for the dough:
500 g flour
175 ml milk
2 tbsp butter
egg
salt
for the filling:
600 g potatoes
400 g lamb
2 onion
half a cup meat stock
salt, pepper

Pour the milk into the flour, add the butter, egg and salt, stir. Divide the dough into 2 unequal parts – roll out the bigger part and put it into the buttered pan, folding the sides. Prepare the filling: peel and dice the potatoes, mix with the finely chopped meat and onions, add salt and  pepper. Roll out the second part of the dough. Cover the filling and pinch the sides. Make a small hole in the upper layer of the dough and make a ball out of the dough you have cut out. Bake in the oven preheated to 200
