There is much space and light in the O2 Lounge bar situated on the 11th floor of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Moscow court. You won’t find traditional views fr om the window there but there is a view to the skies – through a glass dome one can see what colour the sky is. In the evening stars and clouds are seen there but the atmosphere is romantic in spite of the weather – candle and coloured lamps lights are reflected in high glasses.

What is a high-level bar without panoramic views? The zest of this place is the view of the Red Square from a veranda. Every year when it gets warm the veranda is opened in a new design decorated in a definite age or city. If it is New York the veranda is decorated with the Liberty statue, Manhattans’ views with their bridges and sky-scrapers; if it is Zanzibar palm-trees and chaise-longs are installed in the open air and the noise of Tverskaya street downstairs becomes the ocean washing noise. The changes in the menu are introduced according to the chosen subject. They may be burgers or starters of exotic fruits – it’s a surprise every time.

Bar carte deserves a special attention the bulk of which is represented by original cocktails. The peculiarity of the chef barman Artyom Emelshin’s creations is original syrups of jasmine, ginger, lemon grass, thyme, cardamom, lavender, They give a special savour to the mixes, they are completely natural.

It may take long time to taste cocktails, discovering new nuances of common and exotic ingredients.  The cocktail names are worth much - Spicy banana smoke wh ere soft banana taste is accentuated by aromatic spices, Liquid cheesecake with Mascarpone cheese, Flower valley with refreshing lavender foam, Hot Butter Apple with Christmas taste of apples, cardamom, cloves and pre-heated butter, Moscow Sangari – a kind of winter mojito with mint, ice and bright note of prunes and blackcurrant.

In spite of seasonal mood on the veranda there is a regular bar menu that includes European and Japanese cuisines – sushi, sashimi, rolls, starters, hot dishes and desserts. The menu is laconic but it is arranged the way the traditional dishes take place as well (let say, Stolichny salad with chicken or grilled kebabs with flat bread, tkemali sauce, satsebeli and adjika) and cordon bleu for those who are interested in novelties (smoked salmon sandwich and pickles or apple wine soup with hot apple tempura, lemon gratin and apple wine ice-cream, for example).
