Roll with smoke fish


I like this starter very much. It is very practical to serve at buffet receptions or at a feast table. Also it is excellent when going to the countryside or visiting friends, in case you are asked to bring something tasty ‘made by you’. At the same time it’s really fast and easy to cook but shshshshs! Don’t tell anyone!

Ingredients:

  • Armenian pita – 1/2 or 1 pc (depending on the size you manage to find);
  • Cold smoke salmon – 300 g;
  • Fresh flavorless cheese – 300 g;
  • Dill – a bunch.

You may choose the fish to your taste – any red fish will suit: trout or salmon… You may take salt but smoke fish will create the fine taste.

Step 1

Finely slice the fish. By the way, I always prefer to buy salt or smoke fish as a whole piece but not sliced and recommend you the same.

Put pita on a board and spread the cream cheese along the surface. Top with slices of fish but leave one edge empty for 1-2 cm.

Chop the dill.

Sprinkle evenly over the pita with fish. Roll out to leave ‘the empty’ edge outside, it means start rolling from the opposite edge toward the empty one. These 2 cm with cheese without fish will clip our roll.

Step 5

If we prepare a roll in advance, wrap it up in a film and put into the fridge until x-hour. Then take it out and cut with a sharp knife into equal pieces approximately 1 cm wide. Or just cut immediately.
