The annual world day of green asparagus takes place in the small town of Altedo in May where they cultivate high-quality asparagus awarded with IGP quality mark (Indicazione geografica protetta). Over 300 Chefs from all over the world participate in this international contest annually presenting special dishes with Asparago Verde di Altedo IGP. Traditionally merry Italians organize a huge festival upon contest completion!
