WHY NOT Cafe
On 10th March the new restaurant under the title WHY NOT Cafe was open in place of Polyanka restaurant. The WHY NOT Cafe format combines democratic style, the menu with author's accents and modern design.
Designer Vadim Che responsible for the appearance of such projects as Vse svoi, Parusa na kryshe, Mozhno and Mama Lyuba has executed the design of WHY NOT Cafe. The stylish interior has mixed neutral tones and bright colours, eye-catching restoration and wear out pieces of furniture.
The spectacular bar stand opposite the entrance was a customized order. The walls have been decorated with differently coloured panels – some of them were handmade by Vadim's friends. Two light halls are connected with a corridor and a small hall at the same time with a bright sofa and cosy arm-chairs; WHY NOT Cafe may totally accommodate up to 35 guests. The parking for bicycles is built just in front of the restaurant windows.
The concept of democratic approach adapted for the economical reality is reflected in the menu and implements the idea of clear everyday cuisine.
They are trying to serve demanded positions with a special zest. Among dishes there is warm salad with chicken and mango sauce, crostini with champignons and bacon, trout baked on asparagus, grilled vegetables with aromatic oil and Mozzarella.
Some positions moved from the Polyanka menu: for example, cheesecake with chicken. Bruschettas are cooked with salmon, duck pate, anchovies, olives and served with cream mousse. A special attention is given to pasta cooked here every morning: there is pasta with forest mushrooms, fresh vegetables, meat balls, zucchini and other kinds. Besides, you may make your own pasta choosing the base and toppings. The menu is regularly updated with new positions.
The desserts are delivered from the Brioche patisserie which belongs to the owners of WHY NOT Cafe. As of now, you may try a great variety of sweet positions but soon only a dozen of most demanded hits will remain.
Breakfasts are offered from 11 am to 2 pm: apart from traditional cottage cheese dumplings, porridge-surprise per special recipe and omelet there are such positions as meat balls in tomato sauce with mashed potatoes, oat dumplings with pear and toasts. Business lunch is available from 1 pm to 4 pm: three dishes will cost you 250 rubles and two dishes with a drink will cost 200 rubles. The menu for lunches does not match with the menu a la carte and it's renewed every week.
A concise card of wines and strong alcohol is complemented with a big selection of cocktails: there are over 40 positions among which there are classical ones and author's twists executed by barman Artem Salatych, the participant of Moscow Bar Show. A good choice of tea and interesting coffee drinks are expected to complement with vegetable cocktails in the future.
