Month of Dutch Strudel at Strudel Cafe
Chef of Strudel Café Antoine Fisser decided to familiarize Moscow dwellers with the most traditional Dutch dishes offering guests a special menu De Maand van de Hollandse smaak (Month of Dutch Taste).
The offer includes four positions which might be ordered both separately and as a set.
Carpaccio Beatrix starter (450 rubles) is a beetroot carpaccio with goat cheese baked in the batter. It is a bright and juicy dish.
Then there is Erwtensoep (320 rubles), a traditional peas soup with smoked sausages.
Hutspot met klapstuk (590 rubles) is offered by Chef as a hot course: it is stewed beef and mashed potatoes with onion and carrots. Antoine seasoned this classic Dutch dish with an interesting bacon sauce and parsnips chips.
Wentelteefjes dessert (320 rubles) is especially nice in Chef’s execution. Antoine serves bread pancakes (croutons in special cinnamon batter) with a ball of ice-cream, Chantilly cream and apple sauce with 9 spices topped with meringues.
The set (Carpaccio Beatrix starter, Erwtensoep soup, Hutspot met klapstuk main course and Wentelteefjes dessert) will cost 1490 rubles.
