Herring pate
This is a delightful recipe! It is unusual but very tasty. It has a cream-fish taste and tender consistence. Many people do not understand that it is made of herring only. It looks like it is made of noble red fish. I promise that you will fall in love with this recipe. It takes three minutes and gives so much pleasure.
Ingredients:
- Herring fillet – 400 g;
- Carrot – 4 small pc;
- Processed cheese sliced – a pack (140 g);
- Butter – 150 g;
- Refined oil (scentless) – 2 tbsp.
I will explain why I prefer sliced cheese. Regular melted cheese in boxes is too liquid and viscous for this recipe. As for herring, this time I took scentless canned herring, classic or Maties. You may buy the whole herring, peel and dress it.
Step 1
You have to do two things in advance: take out the butter from the fridge (it should be absolutely soft) 2 hours before and cook carrot. Cut the carrot into pieces and place in the blender. If you do not have it, use the mincing machine.
Step 2
Then take out slices of processed cheese and place in the bowl with carrot.
Step 3
Cut the herring into pieces and place in the blender as well.
Step 4
Blend it together on medium speed for 2-3 minutes. Then add butter and oil.
Step 5
Blend for 3-4 minutes more, open a couple of times and stir up to get it blended flat. You should get the flat mass, not necessarily homogenous.
Step 6
Serve with toasts (loaf or your favourite bread). Rrrrr!
Bon appetite!
