Semolina pudding with apples and poppy seeds
Semolina pudding is very good – with tender fluffy texture melting in the mouth… And it is even more tender with apples. We add poppy seeds to bring a zest.
Ingredients:
- Kefir (sour milk) – 0.5l;
- Semolina – 250 g;
- Sugar – 1 glass;
- Eggs – 4 pc;
- Poppy seeds – 2 tbsp (50 g);
- Baking powder – 2 tea spoons;
- Apples – 3 pc;
- Lemon – 1 pc;
- Sugar powder for serving – 2 tbsp.
Step 1
Put semolina into the bowl and add kefir with sugar.
Step 2
Mix up with a spatula and leave for 45 minutes to lift up.
Step 3
You may peel apples while semolina with kefir are left together.
Step 4
Then slice apples and remove the core.
Step 5
Grate on a big grater and sprinkle with lemon juice to avoid the apples getting dark and mix them up with hands.
Step 6
Break eggs into the bowl with semolina and kefir and stir up until the flat mass. Then add apples.
Step 7
Add poppy seeds and baking powder.
Step 8
The dough is liquid, do not be afraid of it.
Step 9
Grease the baking pan with oil and pour the dough into it.
Step 10
Put into the oven pre-heated until 180 degrees for 40 minutes (approximately (!) because ovens are different), the pie should acquire gold color and we check with a toothpick if it is ready – it should be dry. However, remember that our pie is full of apples which won’t allow the toothpick be completely dry but it should definitely be without dough prints.
Step 11
When the semolina pudding is cooling down, we carefully take it out from the pan and top with sugar powder.
Step 12
Ah… how wonderful it is with morning tea or coffee!
Bon appetite!
