Chicken wings in oven with blue cheese sauce
We continue speaking about tasty food for dinner for football fans. Or for pint pots. Or for those who like chicken wings. It’s so tasty. The restaurant is just left aside. Crispy vegetables and blue cheese sauce will complement it. Take your favorite cheese. For example, too much harsh cheese may spoil the sauce.

portions Ingredients:
- Chicken wings – 1.2 kg;
- Ketchup for barbecue – 200 ml;
- Soya sauce – 2 tbsp;
- Lemon – 1 pc;
- Honey – 2 tea spoons;
- Dried garlic – 1 tea spoon;
- Paprika – 2 tea spoons;
- Chili – ½ tea spoon;
- Black ground pepper, salt;
- Celery stalks – 2 pc;
- Carrot – 1 big;
- Oil – 3 tbsp.
For sauce:
- Sour cream – 2 tbsp;
- Natural yogurt – 2 tbsp;
- Mayonnaise – 2 tbsp;
- Blue cheese – 100 g;
- Lemon juice – 1 tea spoon;
- Worcestershire sauce – ½ tea spoon;
- Dijon mustard – 2 tea spoons;
- Garlic – 2 cloves
- Salt, black ground pepper.
If you decide to use this recipe for cooking wings on charcoal grill, then leave salty and peppered wings in the marinade for 4-6 hours in the fridge (better for the night) and roast on the grid for 20-25 minutes, turning them out.
Step 1
Wash the wings, dry out with paper towels. Cut the last phalange of all wings. You can often buy wings without it now.
Step 2
Sprinkle wings with salt and pepper. I have lemon black pepper.
Step 3
Heat the olive oil on a frying pan and fry wings in portions (I had 2 portions) on medium or strong heat for 4-5 minutes from each side until the brown crust.
Step 4
When wings are ready, place them into the baking pan.
Step 5
Meanwhile, prepare the marinade. Mix up ketchup, soya sauce, honey, paprika and dried garlic. Press out half a lemon there. Stir up.
Step 6
Add chili to your taste and 1 tea spoon of black ground pepper.
Step 7
Pour wings with marinade and coat each wing with hands. Do not burn hands. I waited for 10 minutes until they cool down. Put a couple of lemon slices into the baking pan and place it to the oven pre-heated until 220 degrees for 15 minutes.
Step 8
Now prepare the sauce. Stir up mayonnaise, sour cream and yogurt.
Step 9
Add blue cheese mashed with fork, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice. Press out cloves of garlic.
Step 10
Use immersion blender to make homogenous sauce (not necessarily). Sprinkle with salt and pepper to your taste.
Step 11
Pour over to the bowl.
Step 12
Take out wings from the oven and let them cool down for 5 minutes.
Step 13
Halve carrots and celery stalks crosswise and cut each part into long thin sticks.
Step 14
Serve wings with vegetables and the sauce. You won’t pull all out by their ears.
