Deep fried squid rings
The Football World Cup is taking place now. Having understood how many men (and also women, we won’t hide it, ha-ha) are sitting in front of TV screens with beer, I’ve decided to offer a beer snack. Squid rings are very tasty, crispy and fast disappearing. Do not forget the sauce!
Ingredients:
- Squids – 1 kg;
- Flour for batter – 1.5 glass;
- Paprika – 2 tea spoons;
- Baking powder – 1 tea spoon;
- Eggs – 3 pc;
- Milk – 3 table spoons;
- Salt;
- Oil for frying.
For sauce:
- Natural yogurt – 300 g;
- Lime - 1/2 pc;
- Worcestershire sauce – 1 tea spoon;
- Tabasco – a few drops;
- Chili – a pinch;
- Coriander – 4-5 twigs;
- Salt;
- Black ground pepper – ½ tea spoon.
Step 1
Beat eggs into the bowl and pour the milk. In the picture you see 4 eggs, in Ingredients I indicated 3 eggs as I had a lot of egg mixture left.
Step 2
Stir up with aureola and add salt.
Step 3
Add flour, salt, baking powder and paprika into the other bowl. Stir up well.
Step 4
I had frozen peeled squids. I got them unfrozen at the room temperature, wash out and cut into rings. You may buy squid rings.
Step 5
Prepare the sauce in advance. Put yogurt, half of lime juice, Worcestershire sauce, tabasco, add salt and pepper into the bowl, stir up.
Step 6
I tried and found it not spicy enough, so I added chili.
Step 7
Finely chop coriander and add to the sauce. It is ready.
Step 8
Coat squid rings in the egg mixture, remove extra liquid and coat in flour. Put on a board 10 pc on average.
Step 9
Heat over oil in a frying pan on medium heat. When it starts cracking, it’s time to fry. Put rings into the frying pan. Oil should be enough for rings to float. However, the surface of the ring remains above. After 30 seconds turn rings over and fry for 10 seconds more.
Step 10
Then put rings on a plate covered with paper towel to get extra oil flow off. Then fry the next portion.
Step 11
Serve with sauce and you know with what else.
Bon appetite!
