Pita khachapuri (achma)
This is incredibly tender and tasty option for khachapuri. It’s the tastiest when it’s hot but it’s also fine after cooling down. You may warm up a piece of pie to make the cheese appetite string.
Ingredients:
- Armenian (thin) pita – 1 pack;
- Eggs – 2 pc;
- Sour cream – 400 g;
- Milk – 200 ml;
- Cottage cheese – 400 g;
- Any hard cheese – 400 g;
- Greens (parsley or dill) – 1 bunch;
- Butter – 50 g;
- Salt, pepper.
Step 1
Cut pita according to the shape of baking pan where we’ll bake khachapuri. Do not throw bits and pieces but arrange them in the middle of the pie like shaping the layer. It’ll consist of 10 layers on average.
Step 2
Beat eggs in a bowl, mix up with a fork. Add sour cream, milk, salt, pepper and mix up until the flat mass. Melt the butter in the baking pan. Coat a piece of pita in milk & eggs mass and place in the pan.
Step 3
Sprinkle the first layer with cheese grated on a small grater.
Step 4
Coat the next piece, place it on top and then place cottage cheese, sorting it out with your fingers to avoid big balls.
Step 5
Top with chopped greens.
Step 6
Then change the layers one by one till the end. The last top layer should be with cheese.
Step 7
Place in the oven pre-heated until 180 degrees and bake until brown crust.
Bon appetite!
