The culinary theatre of Oleg Menshikov – Chemodan Restaurant – belongs to the national artist of Russia Oleg Evgenievich Menshikov and famous restaurateur from Krasnoyarsk Dmitry Stepanov.

The interior, strictly following the Biedermeier style, brings a sense of comfort and neatness calling up warm and slightly sentimental thoughts. Watches, books, a mirror, photo-frames, lamps and ashtrays – all these antique items naturally enrolled in the interior together with calm music encourage having a good time with warm conversations.

Chemodan offers its guests rare dishes of the Enissey region of XIX century. The restaurant has own supplies of fish and poultry from Siberia: nelma (Siberian white salmon), muksun, vendace, broad whitefish, grayling, meat of Siberian red deer, roe, bear. The principal difference from usual traditionally copious Russian cuisine is the concept of new Siberian cuisine where all dishes are light and healthy. Besides, it’s the only place in Moscow where you may try unique erofeich. The formula of elite alcohol drink restored per old Russian recipes remains secret, however, it’s well-known to be impossible to make at home. At the times of Peter I erofeich was available only for aristocratic families and rich merchants. The bar is definitely not limited with it and experienced sommelier will help you to select the most suitable wine.

Since the restaurant was open, apart for the owner, the restaurant has been fancied by many star friends of Oleg Evgenievich and now there are even ‘named tables’ by Michail Efremov, Yuriy Bashmet, Konstantin Khabenskiy.

Theatre and music performances often take place at the restaurant when jazz-blues is played and theatre readings are organized. The restaurant is full on such days and you’ll need to buy a ticket to the concert just like in any other non-culinary theatre. However, on free days it’s better to book a table in advance as Moscow dwellers like very much the Siberian cuisine and theatre ambiance.
