The sumptuous restaurant Borgato in Moscow is situated in a not less sumptuous place. It occupies the whole wing of the ancient mansion house used to belong to the Saltykovs-Chertkovs built in the late 17th-early 18th centuries.
In the language of the Italian mafia Borgato means “family, a circle of the only closest and most trustworthy people”. The restaurant owners are trying to make a family out of their guests creating a warm ambiance in it. One of the family Italian traditions is presence of all big family at the dinner table including numerous kids, grandparents, aunts and uncles. The Borgato restaurant in Myasnitskaya street is nice for having a good time discussing results of the day.
The kitchen is headed by the real Milan citizen Antonio Baratto. He is responsible for not having upstart author's cuisine but only traditional Mediterranean dishes. Here there are familiar to everyone courses such as ravioli, risotto, pasta, chops, rack of lamb. In accordance with the menu the wine list includes only tested by years marks from Italy, France, the New World, Spain.
Designers created the interior of the Borgato restaurant in Myasnitskaya street did their best to keep the ancient spirit. Everything reminds of luxury life that the old owners had: high ceilings with hanging cut-glass chandeliers, working fire place, soft light of lamps, collection of porcelain on the walls. It's hard to believe that behind big glass windows the 21st century is passing by very fast.
