Avlabar is the name of an old district in Tbilisi. It can be translated as the quarter behind the city’s walls. Someone says, that was Avlabar that Tbilisi’s history started, someone thinks it to be a quarter of the intellectuals… Nowadays the district appeals the tourists with its old temples and beautiful palaces. Lately Moscow has got its own Avlabar – that’s the name of a small and cozy restaurant near Avtozavodskaya metro station. 

Those who appreciate good food and low-key atmosphere will like the restaurant. Interiors of the Avlabar have charm for communication and slow meals. The style of the design can be defined as understated retro, but, at the same time, interesting retro details are next to original paintings, stylish brickwork and bright stained glass. Two small halls (for 20 and 10 persons) are always at service for those who want to enjoy time, meet business partners, arrange a small banquet for the relatives.

Traditional Georgian and original dishes are presented in the menu. Soups are served in clay pots and many hot dishes – in a ketsi pan. By all means, you will find fresh bread fr om tandoor, plenty of grilled dishes, seven sorts of khatchapuri, pkhali, shish-kebabs, kharcho in the menu. Various assorted dishes are offered for big companies, for example, amazing shish-kebabs which will be perfect for 8 people! Avlabar salad with chicken, walnuts and greens, hot dish wh ere pieces of chicken and pork are baked with mushrooms under a sulguni «cap» are worth tasting! As for the drinks, in the place there is a wide variety of wines, including Georgian and Armenian ones. Armenian fruit wines, served in bottles in a shape of pomegranate, queen apple or blackberry, would perfectly suit romantic dates.
