The Literature Café on Nevsky Prospekt is a historical place. The time is slow here as it used to be many centuries ago when the spot was occupied by the S.Wolf & T.Berange Confectionary. Drinking coffee and eating pastries here were the famous Russian writers thinking over their great works: I.I. Panaev, V.G. Belinsky, F.M. Dostoevsky, E.M. Saltykov-Shchedrin, N.G. Chernyshevsky. The confectionary is forever bound with the last day of A.S. Pushkin – this is the place the poet came to before his last duel on 27 January 1837. A lot of time has passed ever since. However, literature-music nights are still held here just like then. Daily, 20.30 until midnight, you can hear Russian romances, while Friday and Saturday are for classic music and poetic readings.
12.00 to 16.00 is a business lunch offer at 240 roubles.
